Massachusetts State Police apprehended a Dorchester man after a search by officers, K-9 units, and aircraft in the Brighton area, officials said.
Police attempted to pull over Christopher Chubbuck, 30, for motor vehicle violations, including speeding, at 9:02 a.m. on North Beacon Street, said State Police spokesman Trooper Thomas Murphy.
The suspect stopped his car but then fled on foot, Murphy said.
Chubbuck fled to the area of Soldier’s Field Road near Everett Street. The State Police Air Wing and a K-9 unit responded, Murphy said.
After an hour and 15 minutes of searching, a police dog found the suspect. Chubbuck was wet when police apprehended him, an indication that he may have hidden in the river, Murphy said.
Chubbuck faces nine motor vehicle charges, one drug charge, and one charge from an outstanding warrant, State Police said.
