A motorcyclist was hit by a car while attempting a dangerous turn on to Cedar Street from Columbus Avenue in Jamaica Plain Sunday evening.
According to police the motorcyclist, a 45 year-old man, was nearly through the intersection when he tried to make a quick right – from the center lane.
Police said the driver of the car in the right lane tried to avoid the motorcyclist by stopping short, but struck the right side, causing the rider to fall off and injure his leg. The motorcyclist was rushed by ambulance to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. The crash happened at 6:43 p.m.
A third vehicle driving behind the car stopped quickly too, trying to avoid the collision, but, police said, it rear-ended the car.
Police said neither driver was injured.
