Three males allegedly attempted to abduct a 16-year-old Swampscott girl in a struggle that resulted in the girl ripping her shirt and running home, police said.
The girl was walking home Wednesday night at about 8 p.m. in a residential neighborhood on Norfolk Avenue near Abbott Park when a white Honda civic pulled up to her, Swampscott police said in a statement. A man in his 30s with a thin, outlined beard and a medium build told her to come in his car, and that he knew where she lived, police said. Two other males were seated in the back seat of the car, police added.
The victim told police she became scared, told the man she didn’t want anything to do with him, and continued on her way. The suspect then allegedly grabbed the victim and attempted to pull her into the car before she fought him off and ran home. The suspect allegedly followed her down Stetson Avenue in his vehicle, then fled toward Salem, police said.
