Victim identified in fatal shooting in Roslindale on Saturday; incident part of violent spree in city

The victim of a fatal shooting in Roslindale Saturday night has been identified as Nelson Castillo, 25, of Boston, police said.

Castillo was killed in one of four separate shooting incidents in Boston Saturday.

In the other three shootings, one man was critically wounded and six people were injured. Three of those victims were shot outside a South Boston bar.

A ninth person was shot late Sunday afternoon in Franklin Park and is expected to survive.

The fatal shooting occurred 11:48 p.m. Saturday when police responded to a call for a man shot in the area of 80 Archdale Road , police said.

Officers found Castillo in a parking lot adjacent to 75 Archdale Road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Castillo was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was the 36th homicide victim in Boston this year.
