The car of an 84-year-old North Adams woman who was found dead inside her home was found just over the border in Vermont two days after her death, officials said.
Police and Berkshire County prosecutors are investigating the death of Ellen Depaoli, which was deemed a homicide by an autopsy. Details of the autopsy are being withheld pending the investigation, officials said.
Depaoli was found dead in her Walker Street home Tuesday night. Her blue 2005 Ford Taurus was found Thursday in Bennington, Vt., said the Berkshire County district attorney’s office in a statement. Bennington is about 20 miles away from Depaoli’s North Adams home.
The car is being searched for a possible connection to her death, the statement said.
