A large truck stopped short of the Boston University Bridge on Storrow Drive this afternoon when the driver realized the truck wasn’t going to fit under the bridge, authorities said. One lane on the busy road was closed.
State Police received a report of the stuck truck around 2 p.m. They responded, along with the Department of Conservation and Recreation, which maintains Storrow Drive.
State Police did not report any damage to the truck or the bridge.
The driver realized the vehicle would not fit under the bridge and stopped before getting stuck, said Bill Hickey, DCR spokesman. The truck driver backed up and exited the roadway, using a different route to get to his destination.
No injuries were reported, State Police said.
No further details were immediately available.
