Boston police search for culprit in four indecent assaults in Back Bay
Boston police are investigating four indecent assault and battery incidents reported by women in and around the Back Bay area Tuesday night and this morning.
The victims generally described the suspect as a white male, from 20 to his early 40s, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds and wearing a tan construction jacket, police said.
One victim reported at 10:13 p.m. Tuesday that she was walking on Dartmouth Street approaching Beacon Street. She said she saw a man carrying a plastic bag standing on the opposite corner. She said as she crossed the street, the man asked her what time it was. She said she told him. He then began walking closer to her, indecently touched her, and fled on foot.
A second victim reported at 10:24 p.m. Tuesday that she was walking on Dartmouth Street when a man carrying a plastic Dunkin’ Donuts bag followed her. She said she could hear him saying things but she pretended not to listen. She said the suspect then approached from behind and indecently touched her before fleeing on foot.
A third victim reported at about 12:42 a.m. today that she was walking in the area of the 150 block of Newbury Street when a man approached from behind her and indecently touched her before fleeing on foot.
A fourth victim reported at 6:55 a.m. today she was walking her dog in the area of the 290 block of Commonwealth Avenue when she saw a man on a bench. The man began to yell at her, “Hey! Hey!” The victim told him she didn’t have any money and the man jumped up and indecently touched her.
When the victim started to scream, he punched her in the head and then fled on foot towards Massachusetts Avenue. The victim refused medical attention.
