Duxbury police investigating incident in which man approached young girl

Duxbury police are looking to identify a man who abruptly pulled his car over and approached a young girl.

The girl was walking her dog at 5:25 p.m. Friday on Washington Street, Duxbury police said in a statement.

The man asked the girl about her dog, and she ran home. The man drove in the direction of Hall’s Corner, police said.

The man did not make an attempt to grab the girl or get her into his vehicle, the statement said.

The suspect is described as white, 30 to 35 years old, tall, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the Washington Redskins logo. He was driving an older model, four-door, maroon sedan that had rust on the fenders and rear bumper, the statement said.

Police hope to identify the man in order to determine if this was a criminal incident or just an odd occurrence, the statement said.
