Authorities identify victim in Storrow Drive motorcycle crash; fatality was second in 10 days on road

The victim in the second fatal Storrow Drive motorcycle accident in 10 days has been identified as a 35-year-old Brighton man.

Jeffery Kassner struck a pole and crashed his motorcycle on the stretch of road east of the Bowker Overpass near the Dartmouth Street footbridge at around 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, State Police said in a statement. No other vehicles were believed to have been involved.

Kassner was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the statement said.

State Police are still investigating the incident. No further details were immediately available.

On Sept. 22, a 44-year-old Wakefield man also died of his injuries in a motorcycle crash on Storrow Drive, the Suffolk district attorney’s office said in a statement.

The man struck a Jersey barrier near the Longfellow Bridge and died of his injuries, the statement said.

Police asked anyone with information on either of the crashes to call detectives at 617-727-8817.
