Mostly cloudy, cooler today
A high pressure system will stick around today, providing mostly dry weather into the evening. Showers could pop up Thursday and Friday, but dry, seasonable weather will return for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
“We will see a couple cloudy days ahead, but sun will peek through,” said Alan Dunham, weather service meteorologist. “No day will be a complete washout.”
Today will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Most of Massachusetts will remain dry, though a few showers are possible along the coast. Clouds will remain overnight, and the chance of showers will continue. Temperatures will fall into the mid-50s overnight, and a light southwest wind will develop after midnight, according to the weather service.
A cold front will slide through the region early Thursday, ushering in mostly dry conditions. Skies should be mostly sunny, but showers are possible before noon. Still, the showers will be short-lived and no intense precipitation is expected. Temperatures will shoot into the low 70s before moderating into the 50s overnight.
Showers are likely early Friday morning until about 11 a.m. Still, Friday should see sunshine and mostly dry conditions. A southwest wind will bring gusts up to 15 miles per hour through the day, cooling temperatures a degree or two. Clouds will develop overnight, and temperatures will fall into the 40s, according to the weather service.
The weekend should be pleasant, with partly sunny skies and temperatures on both days settling in the low 60s, according to the weather service.
“We will see a really nice weekend, with partly sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday,” Dunham said. “Those conditions should go right through Tuesday.”Jasper can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or on Twitter @Jasper_Craven
