Verizon cable accidentally cut, interrupting Internet service for some Boston businesses
A Verizon fiber optic cable severed by a Boston worker last night cut out Internet service for a couple hundred businesses, according to Verizon.
“Sometime last night a city of Boston contractor was working in area of Boylston Street and cut it,” said Phil Santoro, spokesman for Verizon.
The cable only served businesses, no residences, and did not knock out phone service when severed, Santoro said.
Crews have been on scene today fixing the cable, and Santoro said he expected service to resume sometime today.Jasper can be reached at email@example.com or on Twitter @Jasper_Craven
