Elementary school bus crashes in Falmouth
At least 10 elementary school students were taken to the hospital for evaluation this morning after a school bus crashed in Falmouth, police said.
At about 9 a.m., the school bus was en route to Mullen Hall School on Thomas B. Landers Road near Technology Park, Falmouth police said in a statement.
A white box truck drove into the school bus’s lane, causing the bus driver to swerve out of the truck’s path, leave the road, and strike a utility pole, the statement said.
The box truck fled the scene, said Falmouth Police Lieutenant Jeff Smith.
There were no serious injuries. The children were taken to Falmouth Hospital by ambulance, the statement said.
Falmouth police are investigating the crash. Police asked anyone with information on the box truck and its operator to call 508-457-2527.Melissa can be reached at email@example.com or on Twitter @Melissa__Hanson
