A single-vehicle accident in Brockton Tuesday night killed one person and severely injured two others, officials said.
Brockton police responded at about 8:45 p.m. to a rollover crash on Boundary Street, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz’s office said.
The three passengers were immediately treated on scene, prosecutors said in a statement.
The operator and front-seat passenger of the vehicle were taken to a local hospital with severe lacerations to the face and trauma to their bodies. They are expected to survive, the statement said. Their identities were not released.
The passenger in the rear, Kaitlyn Rastellini, was unconscious when police arrived. She had severe trauma to her body. The 19-year-old was taken to a Boston-area hospital by helicopter, and was pronounced dead early this morning, prosecutors said.
The cause of the incident has not yet been determined, and is under investigation by Cruz’s office and Brockton police.Melissa Hanson can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or on Twitter @Melissa__Hanson
