An explosion and blaze destroyed a three-decker home today in Pawtucket, R.I., officials said.

The cause of the explosion, which went off at about 10:15 a.m. on Mineral Spring Avenue, is under investigation, Pawtucket Fire Chief Jay McLaughlin said.

The fire was contained by around 12:30 p.m.

Two people were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries, said McLaughlin.

The second and third floors of the home were lost in the explosion. The home, worth about $250,000, will be a total loss, McLaughlin said.
