Two children and their father were hurt when a car struck them Saturday evening in Quincy, according to Quincy Police. The children – one boy and one girl – suffered severe, but not life-threatening, injuries, said Police Sergeant Garrett Greenwood.

Police received a call of the incident at 7:46 p.m. The three pedestrians had just gotten off a bus and were trying to cross Quincy Avenue near Walmart when they were hit, Greenwood said. He could not confirm whether they were using a crosswalk.

The injured were transported by two ambulances to Boston Children’s Hospital.

The car’s driver stayed on the scene after the incident, said Greenwood. The driver was not charged, but an investigation is ongoing and the Quincy police’s accident-reconstruction team is looking into the circumstances.
