State trooper is sideswiped by car during routine Pike traffic stop in Grafton
A state trooper was sideswiped by a car during a routine traffic stop on the Massachusetts Turnpike early this morning, and police are looking for the car that fled the scene and its driver.
A trooper pulled a car over at 1 a.m. in Grafton. While out of his car, the trooper was brushed by another car, said Trooper Thomas Murphy, a State Police spokesman.
The trooper who was sideswiped was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center with minor injuries and was discharged this morning. State Police did not release the trooper’s name.
An investigation has begun into who injured the trooper. But police would not comment on any possible suspects or describe the car involved.
