Two injured in Dorchester shooting
Two men were shot in the middle of dead-end Whitman Street in Dorchester late Saturday, Boston police said.
At the scene, police Superintendent William G. Gross said a call came in at 10:52 p.m. for two people shot.
Gross said that Boston EMS had quickly transported the victims, who appeared to be in their 20s, to Boston Medical Center. Their medical conditions were not known.
Police canvassed the area seeking information. Outside one home, a neighbor told a detective she heard a quick succession of gunfire.
“I was inside the house, and I heard seven to eight gunshots,” she said. “It was just like back to back to back to back.”
Just before 11:15, a woman crossed Norfolk Street and collapsed in a yard, crying, “Don’t tell me that.” As a man tried to console the woman, she screamed, “That’s my baby.”
