Rob Gronkowski isn’t the only member of the Patriots who likes to have a good time. The hard-partying tight end has nothing on receiver Wes Welker, who’s been known to tip a few. (We’re told he made quite a spectacle of himself at the Barnstable Brown Party at the Kentucky Derby a few years ago.) The New York Post reports that Wes was at it again the other night, getting into a tussle with security guards as he and his buddies tried to bum rush a Patrón-sponsored party that was part of the annual Aspen Food & Wine Classic. Sources told the tabloid that Tom Brady’s go-to guy walked up to the bash at the restaurant Above the Salt with his posse and tried to get in without checking with organizers. According to the Post, security guards tackled the group and a brawl nearly broke out. Welker and his crew were not arrested, but police did apparently shoo them from the property, though an official police statement did not name anyone involved. The pass catcher and his fiancée, Anna Burns, are due to get married in Aspen this weekend. Contacted Tuesday, Welker’s camp wouldn’t comment on the report.
