Go Fug Yourself bloggers hype their new book, “Messy,” in Boston
Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan, the bloggers behind the popular celebrity site GoFugYourself.com, were in town Friday promoting their second young-adult novel, “Messy.” And the pair, once declared the “meanest queens in the cafeteria” by the Village Voice, are actually quite delightful. (Big sports fans, the GFY gals were at Fenway to witness Cody Ross’s dramatic walk-off homer Thursday.) Asked what advice they give to wannabe bloggers, Morgan had this to say: “I think the advice is always the same, you need to write about something you’re interested in and you have to write it the same way you would if you had 20,000 or 2,000 or 2 people reading you. If you’re not interested in what you’re writing, people can tell. It’s not a ‘get rich quick’ scheme like a lot of people think.” Friday, the Morgan and Cocks are scheduled at Brookline Booksmith for a signing.
