J. Geils Band films scene for “Grown Ups 2”

The J. Geils Band is no stranger to the big screen. The Boston band’s songs have been used in movies ranging from “Fever Pitch” and “Anger Management” to “Fright Night” and “The Falcon and the Snowman.” But Monday, the band itself filmed a scene for Adam Sandler ’s “Grown Ups 2” in Swampscott. Peter Wolf , Seth Justman , and the rest of the guys — minus guitarist J. Geils , who’s at odd with his mates at the moment — performed three songs during filming of a pool party scene. While 400 extras frolicked, the band played “Centerfold,” “Where Did Our Love Go?” and “(Ain’t Nothin’ but a) House Party.” Sandler, who’s taken to starting each morning on the public basketball court at Phillips Park, happily signed autographs for passers-by Monday, and the New Hampshire native was joined on the basketball court by his costars Nick Swardson and Peter Dante .
