Deadline.com owner Jay Penske arrested on Nantucket, accused of urinating on a woman’s boots

Jay Penske (inset), the 33-year old founder and CEO of PMC Media and the son of auto racing titan Roger Penske , was arrested early Thursday morning for allegedly breaking into the Nantucket Yacht Club, according to the Nantucket newspaper, the Inquirer and Mirror. The island paper says that Penske — who was arrested with his 35-year-old brother Mark — was apprehended after two women told police they had been assaulted by the brothers. One of the women said that when she confronted Jay Penske as he urinated in the Yacht club parking lot, that he turned to her and urinated on her boots and then grabbed her arm and pushed her. The women later declined to press assault charges, according to the Inquirer and Mirror’s report, but because the brothers allegedly ran into the yacht club’s private property, they face charges for the break-in. “Police claimed they apprehended Jay Penske attempting to run away from the club, and that they found Mark Penske at the employee apartment after he had fallen down the staircase, suffering several cuts on this right arm,” Jason Graziadei writes in the Inquirer and Mirror story about the incident. (As of Thursday evening, Graziadei was tweeting about his interviews with the women involved with the incident.) Roger Penske is a Nantucket resident and owner of Penske Racing. In March, Forbes estimated his net worth to be $1.1 billion. Jay Penske, whose PMC Media runs entertainment websites such as Deadline.com, also owns the IndyCar team Dragon Racing, and he has been romantically linked to “Dallas” star Jordana Brewster and model Devon Aoki. The island paper says that the brothers have pre-trial hearings set for Aug. 20. Island police didn’t return phone calls about the incident as of Thursday evening, nor did management at the Nantucket Yacht Club. A woman who answered the phone at a Nantucket house listed under Roger Penske’s name took our number, but we never heard back.
