Movies take over Georgetown, Cambridge, and Somerville

It was Georgetown’s turn to get a glimpse of “Labor Day,” the Jason Reitman film based on the novel by Joyce Maynard. The drama stars Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, Tobey Maguire, and James Van Der Beek. We hear that crews with the film set up at the Perley School on North Street and filmed close by. . . . Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy’s comedy “The Heat” filmed in Cambridge and Somerville on Thursday. Crews with the Paul Feig comedy were expected to pop up around the Spaulding Rehab Center and on Beacon Street, not far from the Thirsty Scholar. We hear that actors on the set included McCarthy, Joey McIntyre (yes, Boston’s own New Kid on the Block), and Cambridge native Jane Curtin. . . . Teenage girls who’ve been stalking “Hunger Games” star Alexander Ludwig on the set of “Grown Ups 2” can stop asking their parents to drive them to Swampscott. Ludwig tweeted on Thursday: “Off to work my last day on G-Ups2.” He’s gone, ladies.
