He hasn’t been much good on the mound this season, but Josh Beckett tried to make up for it Monday with Beckett Bowl, his annual fund-raiser benefiting the Josh Beckett Foundation and Boston Children’s Hospital. The Red Sox pitcher, aiming for strikes of a different sort, joined several teammates and a slew of Boston sportos — Taylor Twellman, Kevin Faulk, Shawn Thornton, and assorted others were on the guest list — at Jillian’s/Lucky Strike Lanes. The big Texan’s bowling event was followed by a concert at the House of Blues featuring country acts Randy Rogers, Stoney LaRue, Pat Green, and Kevin Fowler. You’ll recall that Fowler has a tune called “Hell Yeah, I Like Beer,” and Beckett, Tim Wakefield, Clay Buchholz, and John Lackey all appear in the video for the song.
