Actress Julia Stiles, who starred opposite our Matt Damon in the Bourne movies, spent part of Wednesday in Charlestown filming scenes for “The Makeover,” a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie that will air on ABC next year. The movie is based on George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion” and features Styles as a Harvard-educated professor who recruits a Southie guy (played by David Walton) to run for Congress. Stiles’s business partner is played by C amryn Manheim, formerly of “The Practice.” According to the press release for the film, it is, in fact, a love story. “Elliot and Hannah are about as oil-and-water as any two people can be. But as Elliot becomes a little more ‘proper’ and Hannah becomes a little less ‘pompous,’ could this be a match made — maybe not in Heaven, but — in South Boston?,” it says. We’re hoping that Walton — who will appear on the Zooey Deschanel sitcom, “New Girl,” this season — gets that Southie accent right. We have faith; he’s from Boston and went to Brown University.
