The list of actresses who have played Jackie Kennedy is a long one, and includes the likes of Blair Brown (“Kennedy”), Jill Hennessy (“Jackie, Ethel & Joan: The Women of Camelot”), Roma Downey (“A Woman Named Jackie”), Jaclyn Smith (“Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy”), Katie Holmes (“The Kennedys”), and Jeanne Tripplehorn (“Grey Gardens”). Next up may be Natalie Portman. Deadline.com reports that the Harvard grad, who won an Oscar for “Black Swan,” is being courted to play Mrs. Kennedy (top left, in 1961) in “Jackie,” a film about the first lady in the immediate aftermath of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. (The script was penned by Noah Oppenheim, a writer and former “Today” show producer.) Darren Aronofsky, who directed Portman (bottom left) in “Black Swan,” was previously linked to the project, but he dropped out after splitting with his wife, actress Rachel Weisz, who was going to play Jackie. It’s not known if Aronofsky would be interested in directing if Portman plays the part.
