Jeb Bush gives Andover kids Republic insight
Jeb Bush made his first return visit to Phillips Academy in Andover since his graduation in 1971 in order to share his thoughts about the US presidential race with the school’ s current students. The former governor of Florida and brother of fellow PA alum, George W. Bush ‘64, offered a contrasting perspective to that of Dee Dee Myers, who spoke to students last week.
A week after Phillips Academy, Andover, students heard from Dee Dee Meyers, former press secretary for President Clinton, about the upcoming election, they got the chance to chat with Jeb Bush, former governor of Florida. Seems fair, right? Bush, who was visiting the school for the first time since graduating in ’71, talked about his time at Andover, saying that “college will seem easy after this,” and told the kids that Republicans “believe in striving for a society where there is an equality of opportunity not a guarantee of results.”
