A-list crowd comes out for Ben Affleck’s ‘Argo’

Homeboy Ben Affleck drew quite a crowd for the New York premiere of “Argo,” his political thriller that’s
already being discussed as a possible Oscar contender. Showing up Tuesday to support Affleck, who directed and stars in the film, were Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, George Clooney, supermodel Kate Upton, Bette Midler, Sting and wife Trudie Styler, Glenn Close, Harry Belafonte, Tony Shalhoub, Ari Graynor, Richard Gere, Meryl Streep’s daughter Grace Gummer, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Patrick Wilson, Mariska Hargitay, and a slew of TV journos, including Brian Williams, Cynthia McFadden, Lara Spencer, Steve Kroft, Hoda Kotb, Christiane Amanpour, Morley Safer, and Bryant Gumbel.
