A shout-out to the Globe’s Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic, Wesley Morris, who’s in excellent company on Ebony’s “Power 100” list, an annual tally that the magazine calls “the definitive salute of African-American achievement and innovation.” In no particular order, the list also includes President Obama, LeBron James, Serena Williams, former Harvard professor Cornel West, Jay-Z, Oprah Winfrey, Nicki Minaj, and Robin Roberts. Morris is one of six powerbrokers with ties to the Bay State. The others are Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., New York Racing Association executive Ellen McClain, poet Tracy K. Smith, Minister Louis Farrakhan, and Spelman College president Beverly Daniel Tatum. The 2012 “Power 100” list appears in the December-January issue of Ebony, on newsstands Friday.
