Boston interior designer and stylist Erin Gates, best known for her popular blog Elements of Style, just got a book deal. Gates — who was dubbed one of The Globe’s 25 Most Stylish Bostonians back in 2009 — has inked a deal with Simon & Schuster to publish an illustrated book slated for release in fall 2014. Her literary agent is the Boston-based Kathryn Beaumont. “It’s going to be a design and lifestyle book that has a narrative along with it, kind of discussing how the home and your personal style is a reflection of your life story,” Gates told us. “There will be never before seen pictures of my work, my own space, and some designers I admire.” A few of whom, she says, include Celerie Kemble, Miles Redd, and locals Rachel Reider and Liz Caan. Gates, who recently bought a new home, also gave us a design tip for the new year. “I’m loving a resurgence of brass, especially in kitchens. You can make it look modern or traditional,” she says. “I’m trying that out – much to my husband’s dismay – in our new kitchen.” JESSICA TEICH
