Krasinski’s “Promised Land” and Affleck’s “Argo” honored by National Board of Review

Newton actor John Krasinski was joined by his wife, Emily Blunt, at the National Board of Review Awards in New York on Tuesday night (above). Krasinski’s drama “Promised Land” — which he co-wrote with Matt Damon — was honored with the freedom of expression award during the ceremony. Boston’s Ben Affleck was also at the celebration to pick up the special achievement in filmmaking award for “Argo.” Get ready to see a lot more of Krasinski and Affleck in nice suits. The Golden Globes are Sunday. . . . In less flattering news, some movies with local ties were nominated for Razzies this week. Up for worst movie are Adam Sandler’s made-in-Massachusetts comedy “That’s My Boy” and “The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure,” a kids’ movie by Newton’s Kenn Viselman. New Hampshire’s Sandler is also up for worst actor.
