Mindy Kaling met with reporters Tuesday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena (pictured) and was excited to share that Seth Rogen would be dropping by “The Mindy Project” for an upcoming episode. Kaling, a Cambridge native, and the “Knocked Up” star Rogen appeared in “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” together and reunited in 2012. “I was in a movie of his in May called ‘This Is the End’ where I play myself and I get killed in the apocalypse,” said Kaling. “It was really fun spending time with him, and I think he’s a great writer, and he is coming to do an episode where he plays my first kiss who I met at Jewish summer camp.” Which, of course means one thing: flashbacks. “Right now we’re casting for the younger versions of ourselves, which is really weird and fun, and it’s great. I just watched [the movie] ‘Before Sunrise,’ so I loved two people just talking, and Seth’s so funny just to talk to, and it was great to reunite with him, and there are some interesting twists about what has happened to his character since the time I saw him.” When asked if Rogen shared any good stories about his “Guilt Trip” costar Barbra Streisand, Kaling said, “We haven’t shot the episode yet, but when he comes to the table read next week, I will.” And if you haven’t seen this week’s episode of “The Mindy Project,” it’s worth cueing up your DVR. Kaling reveals that her character is supposed to be from Concord and shows off her Boston accent.
