Who was the lucky guy sitting next to Taylor Swift at the People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday night? No, it wasn’t Harry Styles from boy band One Direction. The man to the right of Swift was Boston singer Rich DiMare, the local crooner with the Michael Bublé-ish voice who’s also the production director for KISS 108’s “Matty in the Morning.” DiMare, 29, was invited to the awards show by his friend Layne Armstrong, who worked behind-the-scenes on the live television event. DiMare was placed next to Swift, which put him in the center of attention — and on TV. “I’ve never sat in the front row, even for our concerts,” he said with a laugh about being a KISS VIP. “It’s tough to get front row.” DiMare told us that he did get to talk to Swift a bit during the ceremony. They chatted about the show and Jennifer Aniston’s shoes while surrounded by famous faces such as Robert Downey Jr. and Adam Sandler. DiMare said the experience was fitting because his friends have always called him the male Taylor Swift. “I write all of my songs about my ex-girlfriends.”
