Denied the chance to be first lady, Ann Romney was offered the next best thing: an opportunity to fox trot on “Dancing With the Stars.” TMZ reports that the wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was approached by producers about being on the show, and she was “very interested.” (A big fan of the show, Romney and her son Craig attended the taping of the “All Stars” season finale, when Melissa Rycroft beat Shawn Johnson .) According to TMZ, Romney and the producers had several meetings to discuss her possible participation, but she ultimately declined the invitation. “Ann Romney was approached, but she declined. She will not be appearing on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” a Romney rep told the website.
