On Wednesday, the Brattle Film Foundation launched a Kickstarter fund-raising page to raise money to install a digital projector and upgrade its HVAC system, which, according to the Foundation, keeps “the theater cozy regardless of the weather.” By Thursday afternoon, there were more than $8,000 in donations from 129 backers. We expect that number to skyrocket soon because, according to the
Kickstarter page, the first person to donate $5,000 will get invited to a meet-and-greet with Matt Damon when he’s in town to pick up the Harvard Arts Medal. The first person to donate $10,000 will get the HVAC
system named after them. The Foundation needs to raise $140,000 by
Feb. 28.
