Jay Leno on his way out? Again?

The Hollywood Reporter put out a story over the weekend speculating that Andover’s Jay Leno (inset) will leave his late-night gig. THR says it’s been told by two good sources that NBC is “moving toward a May announcement that the 2013-14 television season will be the last for Leno,” and that “Fever Pitch” star and “Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon will take over in 2014. Leno temporarily left his “Tonight Show” job in 2009 so that Brookliner Conan O’Brien could begin his own headlining run. In case you forgot what happened during that fiasco, Leno wound up back in the slot, and O’Brien left NBC for TBS. The Hollywood Reporter said that NBC has denied the report and that a rep for Leno would not “speculate on rumor.”
