Bacon Brothers to donate profits from Wilbur Theatre show to the One Fund
Kevin Bacon feels great affection for Boston. “Boston is an important place,” says the actor, who just concluded his first season of the Fox drama “The Following.” “I fell in love with my wife [Kyra Sedgwick] in Boston and I’ve done two movies there.” Bacon (inset) has also played several concerts over the years with the band he fronts with his older brother Michael. Due to that enduring affection for the city, they will be donating the profits from their Bacon Brothers show at the Wilbur Theatre Friday to the One Fund. “Obviously it’s going to be a long road for those people who were victims of the bombing and we just figured we’re coming into town we might as well help out a little bit,” said Kevin. The Philadelphia natives are also at work on a new release. “We have five songs in the can in 90 percent shape,” said Michael. “We’re getting there but it’s been a slow process, we’ve both been busy.” Indeed, Kevin has been dodging the slings and arrows of serial killer Joe Carroll on “The Following,” which was recently picked up for a second season. And he’ll likely be doing promotion soon for the set-in-Boston supernatural cop flick “R.I.P.D.” opening this summer.
