Linda Chorney returns to Sudbury
A crowd of friends and family and a few complete strangers showed up at the Goodnow Library in Sudbury the other night to hear singer Linda Chorney, who was promoting her book, “Who the [expletive] Is Linda Chorney?,” a memoir of her experience being a sudden (and unexpected) Grammy nominee last year. “I felt like I was on ‘This Is Your Life,” the Sudbury native told us afterward. “The biggest thrill was that the library purchased two books to put on their shelves. My very first book in my very first library.” . . . Attentive patrons may have noticed that writer Neil Gaiman and his wife, singer Amanda Palmer, made a cameo the other night in “The Pirates of Penzance” at the American Repertory Theater. The couple joined the crew of pirates during the performance. . . . Ben Affleck is busy scouting locations for his next movie. The “Argo” actor/director was spotted in Ybor City, Fla., visiting sites — Don Vicente Inn and the Cuban Club, among others — that might figure in the film he’s set to direct (and star in) based on Dennis Lehane’s book “Live by Night.” The book, which just won the Edgar Award for best novel, is a gangster saga set in Boston and Tampa during prohibition. . . . Action man Bruce Willis was spied strolling the Brown University campus this weekend with Scout Willis, his youngest daughter with actress Demi Moore. Scout is graduating Sunday.
