James Taylor gets soggy in Stockbridge

Brian Ray, who plays rhythm guitar and bass in Paul McCartney’s band, dropped by the WZLX Beatles art show & sale at the Barnes & Noble at BU Monday. (Also there was Beatles animator Ron Campbell, who directed the Beatles Saturday morning cartoon series and worked on “Yellow Submarine.”) The art show & sale is being held in conjunction with McCartney’s concert at Fenway. The show, featuring work created and signed by McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. . . . Meanwhile, there’s a reason James Taylor looked like a drowned rat when he showed up at Vince Gill’s concert at Tanglewood over the weekend. We’re told the singer had been paddle-boarding on the Stockbridge Bowl when he, wife Kim, and son Henry were caught in a fast-moving thunderstorm. They showed up at Gill’s gig with the Boston Pops soaking wet, but dried out by the time they got together with Gill afterward.
