WKLB’s Friday night after-party for Jason Aldean’s gig at Fenway Park had a lineup that rivaled the main event. Aldean opener Thomas Rhett was the only scheduled performer at the House of Blues after-party, but he wound up being joined by Aldean’s touring partner, Miranda Lambert; Lambert’s special guest for the Fenway performances, Patty Loveless; Kip Moore, who was still in town after performing at Royale on Thursday night; and Aldean himself, who hopped onstage with the crew for a performance of his song “Dirt Road Anthem.” Ginny Rogers, music director at WKLB, said the cameos were unplanned. Rhett invited them all to the after-party and they graciously accepted. “It just happened organically,” she said. “It was a beautiful thing.” After Saturday night’s show, Aldean’s camp made the claim that he had broken Paul McCartney’s recent single-night Fenway Park attendance record, as well as the Dave Matthews Band’s two-night attendance record, which was set in 2006. “I heard we also set a new all-time record for beer sales,” Aldean said in a statement. Live Nation hasn’t confirmed the attendance numbers for us yet, but we’ll take Aldean’s word for it on the beer.
