Dorchester-bred DJ/producer Clinton Sparks threw a serious soiree at Storyville to celebrate his new song with Macklemore, the MC who’s hit it big with “Same Love,” the platinum-selling marriage equality anthem co-written with Ryan Lewis. Judging from the raucous response to “Goldrush,” Sparks and Macklemore may have a hit of their own. The crowd included a lot of Sparks’s high school friends, most of whom were wearing “I Love Clinton Sparks” sunglasses. Sparks said he is excited about performing with Macklemore at the Major League Soccer All-Star game in Kansas City Sunday. . . . Former “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul was spotted dining at Strega Waterfront in the Seaport District the other night. The “Straight Up” singer, who made the morning-radio rounds earlier in the day, chatted up Strega owner Nick Varano. . . . Oscar winner Robert Duvall, in town shooting “The Judge” with Robert Downey Jr., dined at Artisan at the Ritz Hotel Thursday.
