Count J.B. Smoove among those who became a fan of the North Shore while shooting the upcoming HBO film “Clear History.” “It was amazing up there,” said the comic actor when we caught up with him in Beverly Hills, Calif., at the Television Critics Association press tour. Smoove is in familiar territory in the film, playing comic foil to star Larry David, his “Curb Your Enthusiasm” boss. “The weather was great and we had a great time shooting. Larry had a great idea for this movie and my character is a lot of fun.” David recently told critics at the press tour that he was unsure of whether there would be another season of “Curb” and joked that he took a long time to decide because he is lazy. Smoove disagrees. “Larry’s not lazy, Larry’s just rich,” quipped Smoove. How rich is he? “He’s so rich, I went to Larry’s house one time and you know he has money stacked up in the shape of furniture? I mean it’s crazy to sit on a couch of money and put your feet on an ottoman of money. It’s a weird feeling.” Smoove is up for another season if it happens, but in the meantime he’ll be seen this fall in the new CBS comedy “The Millers,” playing a familiar role as comic sidekick to star Will Arnett. “Clear History” premieres on HBO Aug. 10.
