Actor-writer Steven Grayhm , who played a younger version of Jon Voight’s character in “The Five People You Meet in Heaven,” and actor Matt Dallas, of “Kyle XY,” will be at Revere’s Theatre 1 on Wednesday night to promote their movie “Thunder Road,” a feature about a soldier who must adjust to life after returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Grayhm, who wrote the screenplay, and Dallas, who will costar with Grayhm and “The Twilight Saga” actor Charlie Bewley in the film, have been traveling city to city to talk about the project in an attempt to fund the film through Kickstarter. They’ve raised about $185,000 of their $750,000 goal and have about 15 days to go. Grayhm said he pitched the project to big studios first and got great feedback about the script, but the execs all had the same final answer about the theme of the film: “People don’t want to see this,” he said, quoting them. But Grayhm disagrees. He said his film about PTSD and life after service will find an audience, especially in the military community, which has been supportive at these cross-country benefit events. At Wednesday’s Boston event, the actors will be joined by Nick Carbonell, a veteran from New Hampshire whom Grayhm met while he was doing research for the film. Carbonell, who traveled with the actors to their event in Pittsburgh earlier this week, told us that helping with the project has been a worthy experience. “I was a bit skeptical at first,” he said, of Grahym’s idea, “but then they explained it. They’re a great group of guys.”
