The movie “August: Osage County” — which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Monday — isn’t a local project, but it certainly has Massachusetts ties. It was directed by John Wells, who helmed Ben Affleck’s 2010 Boston drama “The Company Men,” and stars Medford’s Julianne Nicholson (seen here holding hands with costar Julia Roberts), Kingston’s Chris Cooper, and Dermot Mulroney, whose mom, Ellen, lives on the Cape.
