Brigham and Women’s Hospital kicked off an ambitious $1 billion fund-raising campaign — yes, $1 billion — with a reception the other night at the Chestnut Hill home of BWH president Dr. Betsy Nabel. The fancy affair was arranged by party planner Bryan Rafanelli and included a performance by Grammy-winning bassist Esperanza Spalding. Predictably, there were some deep pockets in the room, including Hill Holliday founder Jack Connors and his wife, Eileen, Suffolk Construction’s John Fish and his wife, Cyndy, Bank of America’s Anne Finucane, Gerald and Elaine Schuster, Stephen and Roberta Weiner, Spencer and Jenny Zwick, and Dr. Paul Farmer.
