Oscar winner Jeff Bridges talks about his recent Boston flop, “R.I.P.D.,” in the October issue of GQ, which hits newsstands next week. He says of the July action film, which was shot around Boston and Charlestown (and only made about $33 million at the box office, despite costing about $130 million), “I had such a great time working on that movie. . . . I remember what we were doing. I thought: This could be fun to see. And when I saw it, I was a little underwhelmed. For my mind, the studio made some, uh, choices that I wouldn’t have made.” Bridges’s next project is an adaptation of Cambridge author Lois Lowry’s “The Giver.”
