Sheryl Crow goes country at House of Blues

Some lucky fans were treated to an intimate performance by Sheryl Crow at the Foundation Room at the House of Blues on Tuesday night. Presented by WKLB, the brief acoustic set for about 75 contest winners featured Crow and her two backup musicians — guitarist Peter Stroud and bassist and ace harmony vocalist Robert Kearns — playing a few tunes from her recent country crossover album, “Feels Like Home.” In addition to the country weeper “Waterproof Mascara” (co-written by Brad Paisley), her laid-back single “Easy,” and “Callin’ Me When I’m Lonely” (which she dubbed “your basic old-fashioned booty call song”), Crow played a couple of her big hits including “Strong Enough” and snippets of “If It Makes You Happy” and “Picture,” her duet with Kid Rock. The show was one of many special events that the Boston country station has been staging to commemorate its 20 years on the air.
