Celtics guard Courtney Lee puts his art background to work in Roxbury

Celtics guard Courtney Lee (left) joined students at Ellis Elementary School in Roxbury to paint a mural this week. Lee, who was a graphic design major at Western Kentucky, got an assist from former C’s forward Cedric Maxwell, Jessica Hubbard, director of social responsibility at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and dozens of HMH volunteers, including CEO Linda Zecher. . . . Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron and his wife, Stephanie, stopped by this week’s “Taste for the CAUSE” event at chef Jason Santos’s Abby Lane restaurant. The fund-raiser for breast cancer awareness attracted a few other familiar faces, including HGTV’s Taniya Nayak, Mix 104.1’s Sue Brady, NFL Hall of Famer Andre Tippett, Art beCAUSE Breast Cancer Foundation executive director Ellie Anbinder, WHDH-TV anchor Kim Khazei, and Al Corley and Bart Rosenblatt of CODE Entertainment, producers of “The Forger,” which is filming now in Boston.
