WBUR gala draws a crowd

Radio station WBUR held its 12th annual gala the other night, and several hundred supporters turned out. Notables in the crowd included Susan Stamberg, Robert Siegel, Tom Ashbrook, and Robin Young. . . . Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan was in Cambridge to hype edX, the joint online education initiative between Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology that is working with the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development to bring quality education to millions of Arabic-speaking students around the world. . . . Actor John Travolta, who’s in town shooting “The Forger,” was at the Bruins-Maple Leafs game at TD Garden Saturday, watching in a suite with Cam Neely. . . . Sox outfielder Shane Victorino is still celebrating the team’s World Series win. Victorino went to the Tim McGraw -Faith Hill concert in Las Vegas over the weekend, and posed for pics with McGraw, whose father, former pitcher Tug McGraw, won the World Series with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1980. . . . Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer was at Roche Bros. stores in Marshfield and West Roxbury hyping his organic coffee line, Rockin’ & Roastin’.
