Now we know why Bill Murray was at Logan Airport the other day enjoying a bowl of chowder before catching a flight out. The actor has joined the cast of “Olive Kitteridge,” the HBO miniseries currently shooting on the North Shore. Based on Elizabeth Strout’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and directed by Lisa Cholodenko, “Olive Kitteridge” tells the story of a seemingly ordinary New England town that’s rife with affairs, crime, and tragedy, all of it chronicled by Olive, played by Frances McDormand. Deadline.com reports that Murray is playing Jack Kennison, a local widower whom Kitteridge befriends. The cast also includes Richard Jenkins, John Gallagher Jr, Rosemarie DeWitt, Zoe Kazan, Jesse Plemons, and Cory Michael Smith. Murray can also be seen in the upcoming “Monuments Men,” starring Matt Damon and George Clooney, as well as Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”
