Kingston’s Chris Cooper was in Los Angeles with actress Margo Martindale earlier this week to talk about his new film, “August: Osage County,” at the AARP's Movies for Grownups Film Festival. Cooper, who stars in the film with Julia Roberts and Medford native Julianne Nicholson, recently offered up his voice to a local author. He recorded about 10 minutes of Newtonville Books co-owner Jaime Clarke’s novel “Vernon Downs,” a clip that became available to those who pre-ordered the book before last week. Roundabout Press will release “Vernon Downs” in April.
